Bigos! A Polish culinary delight

bigos

Bigos! A Polish culinary delight Bigos (bee-gose) is a Polish national dish, which, according to historians "has been romanticized in poetry, discussed in its most minute details in all sorts of literary contexts, and never made in small quantities." The most famous literary monument to bigos can be found in Pan Tadeusz, a heroic poem venerated as the Polish national epic, extolling the country life of Polish noblemen, written by Adam Mickiewicz in 1834.

Services for Bishop John Walter Yanta (October 2, 1931- August 6, 2022)

Bishop John Yanta

It is with profound sadness that we, the Board of Directors of the Polish Heritage Center at Panna Maria, acknowledge the passing of our beloved founder, leader and friend, Bishop John W. Yanta. He lived a long life of great accomplishment. It was our honor to share his final years – working, praying, laughing and learning – as his quest to preserve the heritage of our Polish ancestors came to fruition. His daily guidance will be sorely missed, but he has left us a lasting legacy and solid foundation to continue his work.
